Suzy Snowflake

Supplies Used

Tube of choice is from Mrs.HomerLynn, called “Snow Bunny”, which you can find here. It is a FTU tube.

Font of Choice: I used Candy Script. Which you can get it here, and Bell MT for my license tag.

Scrap Kits: (FTU) “Suzy Snowflake” by Pixels&Co, which you can find here.

Template: I’m using Template 1 by Sylvie, which you can find here.  She is third from the bottom.

Mask: “Mask 4” by True Taggin’ Love, which you can get here.

Plugins used

DSB Flux Bright Noise

Eye Candy 4000 Impact Brushed Metal

Eye Candy 4000 Impact Bevel

Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow

Lokas 3D Shadow

FYI: I save after each layer is added AND I rename my layers as I go. In this way, I never lose a section due to loss of electric/computer memory and I know where I am if I do.

I also flip my white background after I add and situate every layer. This is so my rotations and drop shadows go on perfect. You can a tutorial describing this here.

Let’s begin!

Open the template and delete the copyright information, pink kiss off text and the black kiss off text.

I want a little more room to work with so I’m going to enlarge my canvas size like so: Image > Canvas Size > 751 x 631 >Ok. This will up your size form 651x531, giving you a bit more room to work with. Then, Flood fill your background layer with white to complete the look.

Find your black diamond layer and: Selections > float > defloat > add paper > resize by 91% > invert > delete > select none. Delete the black diamond layer.

Open ad_paper 3, find the pink circle layer and: Selections > float > defloat > add paper > resize by 35% > invert > delete > select none. Delete pink circle layer.

Open gB_paper multi-snowflake, find the thin black rectangle layer and: Selections > float > defloat > add paper > resize by 75% > invert > delete > select none. Delete black rectangle layer.

Open ck_paper fuchsia, find the pink rectangle layer and: Selections > float > defloat > add paper > resize by 20% > invert > delete > select none. Delete pink rectangle layer.

(Note: I added texture to mine by playing around with several plugins by Eye Candy. See what you can come up with when using any of these.)

Open RobynMeierotto_dots paper, find the grey rectangle layer and: Selections > float > defloat > add paper > invert > delete > select none. Delete grey rectangle layer.

Open sc_paper 2, find the black circle layer and: Selections > float > defloat > add paper > re-size by 15% > invert > delete > select none. Delete black circle layer.

Open An_paper 1, and pull the darkest colour out of it with your colour picker.

Find the dotted circle layer and add a layer above it to flood fill with the chosen colour. Then: Selections > float > defloat > invert > highlight new coloured layer > delete > select none. Merge both dotted circle layers together and add a PSP tight, dark drop shadow.

Using the same paper, re-size by 25%, add your mask and then add above “linear layer”. Re-size again by 81% and position. Delete linear layer.

Once completed, I used the colour #eddd87 to change all of the glitter layers. After I did that, I used DSB Flux Bright Noise > Mixed > 65 to give them a glow.

Open dbd_bow, re-size by 23% and add to your canvas, above your diamond layer.

Open cs_suzysnowflake_stitches4 and re-size by 65% and move into position.

I then drop shadowed my template layers. I merged my entire template layers together, except: snowflake, bow, tube, diamond glitter back and mask.

Duplicate your tube layer and hide your bottom layer.  Zoom in on your image before proceeding with the next step.

Using a circle eraser on size 7 and with a hardness of 17, slowly and carefully erase all of the face around the lips as best as you can. It does not have to be perfect—just neatly done. Grab a bigger eraser and remove the rest of the face.

Duplicate these lips three times, for a total of four lip layers. One each of the three upper layers, add DSB Flux Bright Noise in the following order: lips 2: 25; Lips 3: 35 and lips 4: 45.

Crop, add your name and copyright prior to AS3.

Let’s Animate!

Now that we have our lip layers and name with copyright added it’s time to animate!

Hide lip layers 3 & 4 but leave two open. Highlight the top layer in your layers box and copy merged.

Add this as a new animation in AS3.

Go back to PSP and hide layers 2&4 but open 3. Do the same in AS3 as above, but after your last image input.

Go back to PSP and hide layers 2&3 but open 3. Do the same in AS3 as above, but after your last image input.

Once you have all of your images in AS3, do Edit > Select All > File > Optimization Wizard and add your settings.

Save, upload to Photobucket and you’re done!
