Time in a Bottle

Supplies Used

“Doll 5”, by Delicate Pearl (HERE)
“Xiomara” by Lauren Thompson (HERE)
“Time in a Bottle” by Just Saskia
Funky Hearts, by Lovey (HERE)
“Heart Template” by RedHeaded ladybug Scraps
“Mask 1” by Sherena (HERE)
Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow
Eye Candy Impact: Chrome

Let's Begin!

Open your template. Delete the copyright layer, add a new layer, flood fill white and then send to the bottom.

Find all of your diamond layers move each near the hearts layer at the bottom and then merge them all into one layer. Now rename “hearts/Diamonds”.

Open paper 4 and re-size by 20%. Find the “heart” layer and replace your template with your paper. Delete the original layer.

Open your tube and add above the paper your just added. Duplicate. Move one to the top and hide. With the remaining, find your heart paper layer and do: Selections > Float > Defloat > Invert > click on tube > delete > select none.

At the bottom of your template layers, you’ll see Right and Left Circle Frames. Move them near each other and merge those layers. Now you have your right and left circles near each other. Merge those together, too.

Open paper 3 and re-size by 20%. Find the second circle layer (above), and replace your template with your paper. Delete the original layer.

Pull a colour from your paper. I used this: #d66f73. Add a layer above your circle frames and flood fill with the colour. On the original layer, do: Selections > Float > Defloat > invert > Click on flooded layer > delete > Select none. Delete the original layer.

Find your layers named “Right/Left Rectangles Frames” and “Right/Left Rectangles” and merge each set of layers together. (Frame with Frame; rectangle with rectangle)

Open paper 5, re-size by 20% and replace the rectangle layer. I pulled the following colour (#d7cec9) out and did exactly what I did with the circle frame layer above.

Open paper 6 and re-size by 20% and replace your “Upright rectangle”. I pulled the following colour (#936f5b) out and did exactly what I did with the circle frame layer above.

Open paper 1 and re-size by 20% and replace your “rectangle”. I pulled the following colour (#d5b58e) out and did exactly what I did with the circle frame layer above.

With the same paper above re-size by 24%, apply your mask and add above your “Raster 1” layer.

Open your uppermost tube now and drop shadow wide. Use your eraser to carefully remove the entire bottom of the tube.

I pulled this colour (#a57f43) out of my tube. I added a layer above the “heart layer” (heart frame) and did as I once did above with the circle frame, and all other frames, in this template.

I then used Eye Candy Impact Chrome on the heart layer Factory settings were fine. I simply made sure that it was on “gold” in the first tab and “concave” in the last tab.

I replaced my “hearts/Diamonds” layer in the same way I did with the frames, using #a1292b.

Now is the time to add your drop shadow to all of the frame layers.

Open element_02 and add above all layers. Re-size by 55%, drop shadow and then move to below your heart paper layer. Duplicate, flip, mirror and merge them together.

Open element_07 and add above all layers. Re-size by 15%, free rotate 28 to the left. Drop shadow.

Open element_12 and add above leaves layer. Re-size by 18% and drop shadow.

Open element_11 and add above leaves layer. Re-size by 18%, duplicate and move one layer under the toothpick. Use your eraser to remove some of the flower above to make the toothpick look like it’s piercing the flower. Drop shadow the bottom flower layer.

(Above layers are “Flower 2” and “Flower 2b”.)

Open element_8 and add below the flower 2b layer. Re-size by 35%. Position this at bottom of heart frame layer.

Open element_10 and re-size by 13%. Position this at bottom of the flower 2b layer. Add another flower, re-size by 10% and move onto the leave layer.

Open element_06 and re-size by 25%. Position this at bottom of the flower 3 layer. Using your deform tool, rotate until it is positioned as shown in the tag. Erase the top half of the ribbon and drop shadow. Duplicate and use your deform tool to rotate again. Again, erase the top and merge the two layers together.

Lets’ Animate!

Duplicate your TUBE 2 layer (tube layer underneath of heart frame).

Hide all layers from top to your Tube 2 Layer (your original and not the duplicate). Leave the duplicate tube down open. We will use this to position our spill.

Add five frames in AS3. Go to first frame and Edit > Select All > Copy > Paste after Current frame. Now you have 10 frames.

Go to your animation and, after clicking on the first frame: Edit > Select all > Copy. Go to the first frame of your designs and Edit > Select all > paste into frame.

I’m showing you (below) where I placed mine so that it can be seen once back in PSP.
Go back to animation and Edit > Select all > Animation > Mirror > Edit > Select all > Copy. Return to your designs and repeat the process above. Now you have two red “crayons” on either side of your tube.
Go to the first frame of your design. Edit > Select all > Copy > Return to PSP > Right click on grey background > Paste as a new image. Now your image is in “Frames” instead of “Layers”.

Hide all layers we’ve already used, open the ones we didn’t, and copy these layers merged. Add over the new animated tag we just added in PSP. You may have to move it around a bit to make it even with the heart frame paper.

Name “Pearl’s Time in a Bottle” and save as a *psd. Close out of your original design.

Add your name and copyright information.

Rename your Frames from 1-10. This makes it easier if you lose your place in AS3.

Hide each frame layer (in turn) until you have all 10 frames back in AS3.

Click on your first frame and Edit >Select all > Shift +z to add your optimization settings.

Save once completed and add to Photobucket to enjoy!
