Declaration of Love Freebies

Hello Fellow Tag Bloggers,

Like many, I have been missing from the field for a while but I am back for a (however) brief spell. There have been a lot of things that have happened recently that, in the course of life, has thrown me a curve ball but have also been blessings in disguise.

Of course, the first is work. The field that I am in (healthcare) takes a lot of my time and, by the time that I do clock out, it is late and I am tired. Plus, I am working most of the week so I have little time to do much of anything but eat and sleep.

Secondly, back in November 2019, I was in a car accident (not my fault) that sent me to the hospital, with no major injuries I'm happy to report (on either side), but it did locate the fact that I had an enlarged uterus, which took a few trips back to the doctor to find a solution. Currently, I still have no clue as to what is wrong with me, but I do, at least, have an idea that the uterus is not just enlarge .... it is hugely enlarged, which accounts for the massive weight gain I have been experiencing over the last two years. So, after much debate with my gynecologist, I am slated to have a hysterectomy this February so I'm hoping that we can figure out what is wrong with pathology once all is over.

Until then, I have been going through my scrap files yet again, in preparation for my six week recovery, and am finding that a LOT of designers have quite the field. This is so sad but I feel so luck to have a few mini kits so that I can, at least, sharpen my chops a bit. LOL

This is an old kit by Yelina, called "Declaration of Love", which is no longer available. I hope you enjoy the freebies!

Squeeze of the Day

My friend, Chassity, sells Scentsy and I just happened to purchase a warmer and the scent of the month, Squeeze the Day, from her Scentsy collection. It inspired me to do a few group snags that is bright, sunny and lemony. LOL

Here is my inspiration:

And here are my snags. Enjoy!

The dust is clearing -- here comes new snags!

Every year, Buckhannon hosts a Strawberry Festival that attracts bands, baton twirlers, singers, bands, crafters and the like from many of our surrounding states -- even from other countries! This is the 75th year, our Diamond Jubilee, and I am celebrating with a small token of the event -- which you can find HERE.

And here is another set of snags that I created from a 2013 Scraps N Pieces blog train called "Just Be" that I found while cleaning my external hard drive. I used a tube by VeryMany, called "Spring," which you can find HERE. I used AL Serenade from FontZone.

My Progress and a few snags

It's been some time since I last posted, due to the end of my Spring 2016 college term, but it was well worth it. I am still continuing to maintain a 3.0 GPA, while taking care of a brittle diabetic, my elderly mother, my mentally handicapped brother and my 18 year old, who is about to become a WVU Tech Golden Bear in the upcoming Fall 2016 semester. I have been one busy momma! I will be doing two 4 week classes to get those semesters to drop a bit and I'm looking forward to them. It gives me a release from the stress, just like my designing does, and gets me two steps closer to my degree. Hopefully, it will be a nice summer so that I can enjoy a bit of sunshine while doing my classes. It's simply been drab the first half of the spring here in West Virginia, due to all of the rain we have been getting. For once, I'd love to see the sun again.

When I did decide to design again, and possibly do another tutorial, I found that I was dangerously low on my disk space on my external drive. So, I have had to weed through the kits I'd never use (or hadn't used in years) and do a bit of 'spring cleaning' to grab myself more space. I came across a 2013 blog train from Scraps N Pieces called 'Sunkissed' (no longer available) and used a old template from an O'Scraps blog train called 'Easter 2014' by Lucky Star Scraps (no longer available). I just love this tube by Nocturne, called 'Juice,' which you can purchase HERE. The font is called 'Magnolia Sky' at DaFont.

FTU Kit from Pink Paradox and some Snags!

I was checking my blog post yesterday and I came across a post that Carrie at Pink Paradox Productions added two new kits to her FTU VeryMany designed kits! I just had to get my hands on "Geraldine's Christmas" and, since I haven't played around in PSP for some time, decided to make this little lovely with template #207 by Pooker and a beautiful tube by StellaFelice7 at PicsForDesign:

And here are some snags for everyone else! Just right click on the images and save to your computer. Enjoy.

Repeating Pattern Freebie

Recently, I have finally decided to use my Pixelscrappers account to learn something new. After all, I was always told that a day isn’t a day unless you learn something new. That’s how I came upon learning to do a repeating dot pattern! It was so simple and easy to do; I don’t know why I hadn’t tried it sooner.

What to give your try at it? Sign up for a free account here.

And, if not, I’m sharing my repeating dot pattern! Just right click to save to your computer. Add to your patterns folder in Corel PSP and you’re done!

Leopard the Teddy Bear Freebie

Isn’t here just so cute? Well, outside of those creepy eyes anyway. LOL I created this by doing a tutorial that I found in my misadventures on the internet. I was extremely surprised by how easy this tutorial was and by the fact that I created this whole thing in Corel PSP!
Hmmm, I’m going to try this one in Pain.net as well, just to see if our sisters-in-design can also benefit from this tutorial.
You can try this tutorial here. Until then, Leopard the Teddy Bear is up for grabs from me. You can get him here. Enjoy!

Wow! A Nice Surprise (Cluster Frame Freebie!)

As most may have noticed, I've been away just a spell attending to every day life. So it was a sweet and wonderful surprise when I opened my email today to find a wonderful FTU cluster frame made with my kit "Christmas in a Girl's World" by Kim L! It blew me away! Not only am I new to the kit making business, but to see it made into its' first cluster frame -- priceless!

Thank you so much, Kim, for such a wonderful surprise. It made my day!

Would you like the cluster frame, too? Stop by Kim's blog by clicking the image below to acquire it!

My First Mask

Today, I decided to take a break from my challenges and my designs in order to play around in my Paint.Net with some brushes. It's really not that hard to use brushes in Paint.Net. Most would think it isn't possible but I found a way to do so. And, since I still can't figure out how to use brushes in Corel PSP, Paint.Net seemed the more likely choice for me.

This is what I came up with, in order to form a mask for a tutorial I've been working on:

Just right click the image and save to your computer. I'd love to see what you can make from this. if you use my mask.
