Once you download Paint.Net for the first time, your program may look like this (or in some
form):
You do not have to keep all of
the boxes open. But, what if you want them back again? That's not too hard to
do.
First, you'll never have to re-open your tools box. Why?
Because the tools can also be found here as well:
It's the one box you'll never
have to open again! For all other boxes:
Go to the upper right-hand corner of your program until you see
these little icons:
Clicking on each one of these
will bring up all the boxes again!
Clicking on the gear will bring
up this box:
I have never touched the user
interface and probably never will, as I am not that computer savvy.
The second topic is tools but
this is not the same as your designing tools. This section lets you decide what
you'd like to see in the upper toolbar (what is across the top of your program)
when it boots up. Another topic that I have never used.
The third topic is the update topic. You can choose not to have automatic updates and check for updates manually if you choose. Mine is automatic. It's easier.
The fourth topic is diagnostics. This is great is your PDN keeps crashing and you need help in the Paint.Net forums from the Paint.Net pros.
The last topic is your plugin errors. As you can see, I have a few but only because one of the plugins that I still have installed in my effects folder for Paint.Net is now permanent in the general framework of the program.
Looks like I need to delete the three. LOL
Now, if you click the blue question mark, it will give you a drop-down menu or different topics that are very useful to your program.
I find that the forum link, the tutorial link and the plugin link are the best way to get help for your program and PDN plugins created by Paint.Net pros (although these are not the only plugins you can use with your program).
