SNP August Week #2 Challenge Layout

OMG! I so love Scraps-N-Pieces and Wendy Tunsion is doing this week's challenge! She has a lovely little kit for us to use and so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I love the kit. It has loads of blues and greens and would be perfect if you need a kit to scrap those outdoorsy pictures you took over the summer!
http://www.scraps-n-pieces.com/forum/showthread.php?9206-August-Weekly-Challenge-No-3-August-10-to-August-16
I decided to use my friend Justin's first baby, his dog! LOL I loved how it highlights the pretty blue blanket that's her comfie go-to toy! I love how this turned out.
Want to get this mini-kit and enter the challenges? You have until August 16th and it's over! So, sign up today for SNP and enter your layout today.

Do you like the template as well? It's by Eudora and you can find it HERE.

Daydreaming

 Supplies Used

Cherished by Keith Garvey (HERE)
Tube by Barbara Jensen (HERE)
Afternoon Delight by Anita Designs (HERE)

 Let's Begin!

Create a canvas 1000x1000. Name and save.

Open frame 1, resize by 40% and add to the left hand side of your canvas. Open frame 2, resize by 30% and add to the right hand side of your canvas.

Do not allow your frames to touch. Leave a bit of space in the middle and then merge them down to one layer.

Open paper 8, resize by 25% and add to the frame openings.

Duplicate your frame layer and add a light drop shadow (mine is 3-5-0-7-40). Then, flip and mirror to drop again. Use a small eraser to erase the whole outside of the frames without touching the inner drop. Do not merge the layers!

Open both flowers and resize by 30%. Add your flowers to your liking or as shown in the tag above.

Open flair 2, resize by 30% and add above your frame layer. Slightly turn manually.

Open coffee or tea cup and resize by 60%. Add above all layers but to the bottom of your design to cover the gap.

Open word art 1, resize by 40% and add above all layers; position as shown.

Open the leaf and resize by 45% Add just below the frame paper layer (at the top) and position. Manually turn slightly to fit design. Duplicate, mirror, flip and add at the bottom.

Undo leaf resize and then resize again by 35%. Add below your middle main flower and above your flair layer; manually turn to position.

Add more of this size leaf: tuck them in here and there.

Open word bit 5, resize by 40%, add above all layers and position (according to the cup you used).

Go back to your frames layers. On your original, tightly drop shadow and then carefully erase the inside. Merge the two layers down now.

Add your half body tube in the left frame opening; close up on the right. Duplicate close up and add a normal PDN glow, then drop opacity to 125.

Drop Shadow layers, crop or resize to your liking then add your name with copyright. Upload to a photo sharing site to enjoy.

CT: Bee Happy and some layout inspirations

If you missed it, my friend Priscilla has just finished a mentoring program over at Scraps-N-Pieces. She has done such a wonderful job with her last four kits that I couldn't hold myself back from scrapping with them.

If you have missed these kits when free, you can still get them at one of her stores below.
Scrappy Bee
And, at last glance, you can still grab her collab with Anita Wells at SNP! It's free when you sign up for a free account! Hurry before it's gone.
http://www.scraps-n-pieces.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=104582&title=sand-between-my-toes-collab&cat=597
Going into stores tomorrow is her latest kit called, "Bee Happy". And happy is all I saw when using this kit! The pinks and blues makes it easily interchangeable for a boy or a girl and the black add just a touch of class to your layouts. Purchase the bundle and you'll get not only the kit but a template, alpha and word art to boot!
UPDATE: This kit is now in stores!

Thank goodness I have an outlet to showcase this lovely kit with the daughter and wife of an old friend of mine, Justin. I created three lovely layouts to show you exactly how this lovely kit can make your layouts pop!

Now Beautifully Blessed Designs

 Let's Begin!

Open paper 2 but do not resize. Apply your mask and hold to the side for now.

Open frame 5, resize by 80% and add to your canvas. Flip background then center your frame before adding the rotation below.

Apply your mask below your frame. It will be on the left. Duplicate and merge. Duplicate again and mirror then merge again. Again, duplicate your layer and flip then merge. Erase excess you see at the top and bottom of your mask layer.

Up-size the tube by 135%, sharpen x2, and add above all layers.

Open paper 9 and replace the frame opening.

Open the sand, resize to 750 width and add above your frame layer. Duplicate and move below. On the upper, use a 95 eraser on 75% hardness to erase a bit on your chosen side to make the frame look partially submerged in sand.

Open element 48, resize by 60% and add below the upper sand layer.

Open element 14, resize by 45% and add below the tube layer.

Open element 15%, resize by, rotate counter-clockwise and then place above the bottle layer. Use your erase again to dull the edges of the tree handle.

Open element 5, resize by 20% and place on the sand layer.

Open element 25, resize by 45% and add above your sand layer.

Open element 43, resize by 50% add above the frame layer and above the tiki layer.

Open element 45, resize by and add over the wing nut of your frame. Use a size 55 eraser on 75% hardness to remove the middle.

Open element 26, resize by 25% and place on sand, under your tube layer.

Drop Shadow layers, crop or resize to your liking then add your name with copyright. Upload to a photo sharing site to enjoy.

Autumn Thoughts

 Supplies Used

Tube of choice: (PTU) “Dallas babe” by Elias Chatzoudis, which can now be Purchased HERE.
Font of Choice:  (PTU) “Waterbrush” by Rob, Leuschke which can be found here
Scrap Kit: (FTU) “Autumn Thoughts” by Megan Turnidge, which can be found here.
Mask by Wildcat Digital, which can be found HERE.

 Let's Begin!

Open paper 3, resize to 750x750 and apply your mask. Add a layer above, flood-fill white and move to the bottom. Effects > Object > Object Align > Center Both. Duplicate and merge.

Save as a *psd under your chosen filename.

Open twine frame and resize by 30%. Add this above your mask layer. I erased the outside twine layers, as they didn’t serve my needs.

Open paper 1, resize by 15% and add above your frame. Magic wand > Click inside frame > edit > invert selection > highlight paper > hit delete.

I had to do the above action several times to complete my look. Position in the center and keep duplicating until the look is complete. Then, merge all of the layers.

Open your tube and add above all layers. Center, duplicate and move one layer below your frame layer. Drop shadow your upper layer and then erase the bottom.

Open leaf pile 1 (no shadow) and resize by 60%. Add this above all layer and cover the flower of the twine frame.

Open berries 1, resize by 15% and add this below your leaf pile layer. Use the rotation settings below and then erase the bottom.
Duplicate the berries layer and move it closer to the other branch. Erase the opposite branches, merge together and move into position. Duplicate, flip and then merge.

Open cinnamon sticks and resize by 30%. Add above all layers and position.

Going back to your mask layer, duplicate and flip both vertical & horizontal. Merge the two layers together. Use your move tool to pinch it closer to your frame (if you so desire).

Open a tag of your choice and by 30%. Add below your leaf pile layer and use the rotation below.
Crop your image as close to your mask as you can and then drop shadow all of your layers.

Add your name, and resize to your liking. Upload to Photobucket and enjoy!
